Wake was a fantastic waterside read! I thourougly enjoyed it although there were some bad parts. Once again (and I promise this time!) the review will be only be three paragraphs long.
The good: The characters were 3D and I could imagine them as actualy people. Gemma and Harper were like actualy sisters, fighting all the time, but loving each other anyways. The guys were awesome in the story, both dreamy in their own way. My favorite? I'm sorry Harper, but he's mine! I loved the romance and Amanda Hocking twists a new Greek myth to fit her siren story which I loved! The three sirens were definitely evil and I'd hate to ever meet them
The bad: Unfortunately, I felt like the plot of Wake was a bit slow and there wasn't much climax. That's pretty much it! The rest I loved.

I'd have to say the cover. A. It's pretty. B. Well the plot sounds kinda like some other mermaid books. I'm sure it will ne new and original but it doesn't sound that way from the back cover.
ReplyDeleteI think what entices me the most is the cover... It's just really pretty I'm a sucker for pretty covers. Also the Title- Wake is quite intriguing too.

I really want to know what happened on that beach - though I already have an idea. If this does turn out to be a mermaid-ish book (and it sounds like it will) I'll have to get my friend, Kira, to read it. She adores mermaids. :)

ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really interesting reads. There seems to be a trend of mermaid novels (Wrecked, Of Poseidon, Lies Beneath, and now Wake). But I don't mind. I love mermaid tales, and that's partly why I want to read this book. Thanks for the opportunity!
