As my first ever giveaway, I decided to do something a bit...pratical. Instead of giving away popular YA books (I know, I know!) I will be giving away the entire Hunger Games series to ONE lucky winner! After all, we all know the movie comes out today! Contest ends on April 15, and the winer will be announced on the 20th.

I really loved the hunger games series because Katniss is a strong herione. I know this isnt creative :) but its an awesome giveaway! I made my husband read all three before the movie came out so we can go to see it when it comes out. Thanks for the opportunity to win. :)

let's see I kinda love/hate the hunger games, because I love the first book, but the last one has parts that I hate!
ReplyDeleteI love katniss and peeta, and all the action in the first book. All the love between them, but the 3rd book, I found it very awful. All the things of Peeta hating Katniss, the mutos in the capitol, the subterranean thing, them in funny costumes, and Gale... OMG I hate him.
But I probably will see the movie in the cinema!

I love the books because of the emotion. Rue! Gah! Finnick! Double Gah! I just can't handle it! But I must keep reading and reading, and I'm sad the series is over. But I saw the film and I loved it too.

I've never read the books but I absolutely adore what I've heard about them! I've read a lot about the first one and I've heard that's the absolute best. I love how the characters seem so complex. I'm tired of books where a character is just perfect. I love that the main character seems really strong and wants to protect her sister, but seems like she doesn't always know right from wrong herself.
ReplyDeleteI also want to win this because I love teaching English. I'm certified to teach elementary school, but I have a big part of me that really wants to teach high school English. This seems like a great book to incorporate into teaching (either for students to read, be read aloud to from, etc.) It's great that it has a female protagonist because a lot of high school literature doesn't, and I think it really forces kids to think about how they would act if they were in this society!

DeleteI love The Hunger Games because to me they were like the offspring of Shirley Jackson's "The Lottery," and Stephen King's "The Running Man." In "The Lottery," kids are sacrificed by lottery drawing in order to assure good crops, and in "The Running Man," people are filmed running for their lives/trying to survive while the public tunes in for entertainment. Besides, I gave away my original set, now I wish I hadn't been so generous!

I have only read the first book and I realy want to read all the rest. I love how Katniss actually runs up screaming and begging to take her sisters place because she doesnt want her little sister to die. I think that Katniss also really likes Peeta but she didn't want to actually say it out loud.

I have to be honest, I have not read the books, or seen the movies. I have just recently wanted to get into them though. But I wouldnt be winning these for me, I would be winning these for my little sister. She loves these books. She was there for the midnight showing, with her bright colored makeup, and her and her friends even cooked a big dinner before hand that was food featured in the books! So while I havent read them, I love them, because my sister loves them. :) The biggest injustice of all is that she doesnt actually own the books! She has only ever borrowed them from friends! I would love to win her this set so badly! Thank you for the opportunity!

I love the hunger games because every one knows what it is! And I also hate it for that reason lol; it's going to get too much publicity like Twilight!
ReplyDeleteI have a love/hate relationship with The Hunger Games. I think the books and movie were really well done but I still feel uncomfortable with the underlying theme of "children killing children".
