Waiting on Wednesday

Transparent by Natalie Whipple

Plenty of teenagers feel invisible. Fiona McClean actually is.

An invisible girl is a priceless weapon. Fiona’s own father has been forcing her to do his dirty work for years—everything from spying on people to stealing cars to breaking into bank vaults.

After sixteen years, Fiona’s had enough. She and her mother flee to a small town, and for the first time in her life, Fiona feels like a normal life is within reach. But Fiona’s father isn’t giving up that easily.

Of course, he should know better than anyone: never underestimate an invisible girl.

I'm just going to say, I absolutely LOVE the colors on the cover and the overlay pictures! And, come on, INVISIBLE GIRL. That's pretty awesome, if I say so myself. Plus it definitely sounds action packed. The synopsis actually gives away very little, and I'm a very curious person. ;)

  1. UGHHH it actually isn't action-packed. It's quite boring, actually, and I only gave it three stars even though it probably did earn less in retrospect considering the only thing I remember was the fact that she was ranting about the amount of leg hair she had.

    PLEASE DON'T ASK.

Anyhoo, AWESOME PICK NIKKIPIE! Hope you like it better than me!

    1. Okay so I just realized that I thought nothing was wrong with the plot >.< I saw someone saying something about it on Twitter and I read Transparent like a month ago so I *thought* I thought the same thing but apparently not. I actually enjoyed this one, even if I didn't lovelovelove it. Sorry just disregard this entire thing. D: *leaves*

*crawls into a hole* *dies* *crawls back out to beg everyone to forgive me* *eventually just crawls back in*

  2. Cool pick! From the summery this does look pretty good, but after seeing Eileen's comment I'm not as excited as I was before, but I think I'll still give it a shot. Thanks for sharing!! :)

  3. This is one I have to read in the next month or so. I'm sad that Eileen didn't enjoy it!

  5. I just reviewed this one today! We're thinking on the same wave length :) I gave it three-stars. It's definitely for a young YA audience, which I wasn't expecting since there's a mafia / mob plot line. But, yeah, very light and fluffy and quick. A beach read, for sure. Whipple is a good writer, so I'll probably check out anything else she pens. Great pick :)

Welcome all! I'd love to hear what you think, even if they're lies saying that my reviews are fantastic. I take flattery in all forms ;D
